A WIDOW'S STORY

A sewing machine was donated to a widow living in Galle (mother of four small children), whose husband had passed away due to kidney failure. We also managed to find her some customers from the area, so that she could have a good start. She has now become a success story of her own, working by herself to look after her family.

A VILLAGE's STORY

When incessant rains struck the village of Palanda in the Ratnapura district, this turned out to cause major floods and land slides in the area. This also impacted the education of the students in the area, as the floods had destroyed their books & stationery. Under the Disaster Aid project, the Team was able to provide first response to the village with donations in the form of books, stationery, and food.

A GROCER'S STORY

Under the Lighting Lives project, Tearz aims to provide means of livelihood as a solution to poverty upliftment. This project was aimed at making a small grocery setup for a poor family for their sustenance.

A SCHOOL'S STORY

A water purifier device was donated by Tearz to the Veppankulam MMV School in Mannar, Sri Lanka. This device was a necessity since the water being used from the wells in the school was not pure, which is an issue in that area.

A STUDENT'S STORY

Tearz assisted some students in the Kurunegala area by providing a scholarship for their GCE Advanced Level education, based on their GCE OL results. In the past, such assistance has enabled students to pass their exams successfully, with some also being placed in Teacher Training Colleges (students were requested to wear masks to protect their identity).
